Why Dive Seraya?

Seraya is our favourite site for macro photography. Every dive feels like an underwater treasure hunt where patience and careful observation can reveal remarkable small marine life.

An Underwater Treasure Hunt

Much of the experience is about carefully searching the sand, rocks and other surfaces for small and well-camouflaged marine life.

Macro Biodiversity

Depending on conditions and season, nudibranchs, shrimps, crabs, octopuses and many other small organisms may be observed. Wildlife encounters are never guaranteed.

From Easy-to-Spot to Tiny

Some subjects are relatively easy to find, while others require much more patience and attention.

Seraya the Way We Like to Dive It

We explore slowly and carefully. Your guide is dedicated to your booking and adapts the pace to your experience, photographic goals and the type of subjects you are looking for.

During a photography-focused dive, the briefing, route and rhythm are organised so you have time to observe or photograph subjects without being rushed by an unsuitable group.

Why Buoyancy Matters at Seraya

Good buoyancy helps you remain stable above a macro subject, compose photographs and limit unwanted movement.

Observe Without Touching

Good buoyancy helps maintain an appropriate distance from the bottom and the animals being observed.

Take Time for Your Photos

A stable position makes focusing, lighting and composition easier.

Protect the Site

Controlled finning helps avoid unnecessarily disturbing the bottom or the small organisms living there.

Our Seraya Macro Pack

For divers who want to dedicate their dive to macro observation and photography, Scuba Tribe Bali offers an organisation specifically adapted to this style of diving.

Specialised Guide

Guiding is adapted to finding macro subjects and supporting underwater photographers.

Observation & Photography Equipment

An underwater magnifying glass can be made available, and a camera suitable for macro photography may also be offered depending on availability.

Nitrox & Optimised Dive Time

Nitrox can be included only for appropriately trained and authorised divers. Dive time is optimised according to gas consumption, planned reserve, certification, no-decompression limits or the applicable decompression plan, and conditions.

The ascent must respect the planned gas reserve, with at least 50 bar remaining unless a more conservative plan requires a higher reserve.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Planning a Macro Dive at Seraya

Is Seraya interesting without a camera?

Yes. Searching for small organisms is rewarding without a camera. An underwater magnifying glass may be available, and a macro-capable camera may be offered depending on availability.

I have never tried macro diving. Is Seraya suitable?

Yes. It is a good place to discover macro and muck diving, with relatively easy-to-spot subjects and much smaller organisms, helping you learn to spot gradually.

I am an experienced macro photographer. Will I have enough time?

Yes. Your private guide, briefing, route and pace are adapted to photography so you can work on subjects without being rushed.

Does the Macro Pack allow a longer dive?

Its purpose is to optimise useful observation and photography time. Nitrox is only for trained and authorised divers. Duration depends on consumption, planned reserve, certification, profile and conditions. At least 50 bar must remain for ascent unless a more conservative plan requires more.

Do I need good buoyancy at Seraya?

Good buoyancy is strongly recommended for stability, avoiding unnecessary disturbance of the bottom and protecting organisms. Your guide can adapt the dive and help you improve.
